I wonder if a dream catcher will catch my dream
They had caught my eye in shops, because of their lovely colour schemes
I had dreams I wanted to fulfil
A field ahead, brimming with daffodils
I wanted to pluck them all and take them home
And use them to decorate everything, from my bed to comb
I realised soon that plucking them wasn’t the right thing
My room felt dead, after the onset of spring
Did I ask the dream catcher, why death set foot around me?
Realising, it’s all about another dream
Closing my eyes, I hugged it tight
Hoping the monster in my mind, won’t bite
My daffodil, my dream
Caught it without another seam

Haha, I apologise for such a poorly written poem. I didn’t have much thoughts surrounding it. I promise I’ll do better. However, the inspiration for this came from a dreamcatcher that my sister gifted me back when I was in my final year of undergraduate study. It brings back very fond memories!
The portrait I made was also inspired by the same dreamcatcher. I hope you like it! 🙂
